well believe it or not there is such a thing as genetic hiccups. my family has terribly powerful hiccups. theyre totally ridiculous and very loud. well, from the time i woke up tuesday morning until about 8 that night, i had the heaton hiccups. yes all day. every time i found some miracle that would make them go away, theyd come back within half an hour. and yes i tried every wives tale in the book. except for being scared because i was alone and had no one to scare me.
well when i get these hiccups that wont go away i know the next day will be even worse. they do go away but the next day i am sore all over. it is really ridiculous and sounds totally unbelievable i know. just ask dave or my dad. they both heard me...anyways, yesterday my neck, my back, my shoulders, and my chest were all really sore. i was in so much pain, every time i burped or laughed i teared up because it hurt.
now doctors know what causes the strange phenomena of the hiccup, but no one knows exactly why they start. how silly is it that something so small and ridiculous cant be stopped? and then causes me total pain. not to mention the fact that i also lost my voice tuesday night and for most of wednesday.
it all wouldnt have been quite as bad if my husband had believed me at first and not made fun of me. but that all changed when he heard me later and thought i was making the hiccups up to bother him. when got frustrated enough i went online looking for answers. and the only thin i could find was that uncontrollable hiccups for a prolonged period of time, are a syptom of some other medical problem and that i should see a doctor. that wasnt very comforting. but all said and done im feeling better now and im not pregnant and i dont think anything else is wrong with me.
