Chester Drawers

The only dresser that we had for the first year and a half of our married lives
was a small 6 drawer dresser that my parents
got me for Christmas from Ikea.
 I filled it with just my clothes, so Dave was using
plastic containers to hold his things.
My parents had an old beat up dresser that had been
sitting in the carport for years. They were going to throw it away
so Dave and I saved it. We took it to my grandpa's
workshop to fix it up. This was while I stilled worked
at Gelato and I worked nights. So while I was working
Dave would head over to grandma and grandpa's to
work on his new dresser.
 He sanded,
 stained,
 fixed,
 and renewed the whole thing.

 I was so proud of him. Isn't it beautiful?

(ps growing i always called my dressers "chester drawers". It meant chest of drawers.)

Shooting and Dave's new truck

I suppose I never posted this. So here it is.

Just after dave got his new truck we went out to go shooting.

Dave had to stop and take pictures of this. He thought it was so cool
that his truck could go over this. As you can tell I'm sitting in the truck being bored...

Life as we know it... part 2

We really love going to the Diamondbacks Games. Christian
especially loves it. He has more Dbacks paraphernalia
than anyone else in the family.
After the game we all took some pics.
Aren't we just adorable?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
While Dave was gone on a Fathers and sons
campout, I stayed at my grandparents house.
For how much I love my new place, I surely hate staying there by myself.
It really isn't the safest neighborhood. Anyway, I mentioned to my
Grandma that I wanted to go to Hobby Lobby...
She wanted to come along, she had some things
she need to buy for her newly decorated bedroom.
I found some adorable little bows and figured I would make
some hair things for Kida.
This is the first time she had them in. She really hated it...and still does.
I think she looks like Minnie Mouse! She's so adorable because
she's so small, but bows just make her 10x cuter!
My dad always reserves our family ranch for us
from the end of May through the beginning on June. It is a really
great time to spend with family without any distractions.
  • no cell phone reception
  • no phone
  • no tv's
  • no radios
Not even a microwave. But it is such a beautiful area that all of
those things don't matter.
HABOOB!
I'm sure that 100% of you reading this know all about this
and have seen pictures and videos.
Pictures and videos way better than this
These don't do the oddly-named storm justice.
Dave and I had been taking care of my parents house
while they were out of town. (of course they missed the
coolest storm this town has seen in years)
As we get in the car and start heading for home, we see this
ginormous storm cloud (or so we thought) coming on the
horizon. It was the strangest thing because it moved faster
than anything I had ever seen.
By the time we got home, the cloud had covered half the sky.
The thing that freaked us out the most, was that it literally covered
half the sky. As far east and west as we could see, there
was the cloud.
It was moving even faster now and we started to feel sand and dust
being picked up in the wind. We ran inside, just in time for the whole area
to be engulfed in haboob. We were inside for no more than
30 seconds when we looked out the window and couldn't see further
than a foot. It was pitch black outside. We couldn't even see the street light
in our own parking lot.
Oh, I forgot. We were also supposed to go down to the church
to meet someone. We weren't sure whether we should still
go, but we didn't know who to contact, so we ventured outside.
It was the weirdest thing because just breathing would
fill ever orifice with dust and dirt.
We haven't had a good enough storm, so most things are
still covered in an inch of dust and dirt.
Life as we know it... part 1
Dave's birthday was in early May. We spent the night walking around
Tempe Marketplace (one of our favorite pass times)
and then we ate at our new favorite restaurant.
Lucille's Barbecue.
  • The Chicken Caesar salad is to die for
  • The fried pickles are delectable
  • the fried okra is fantastic
and of course the barbecue is amazing.
I was a little sad though because Dave said I wasn't allowed to tell
them it was his birthday. When he went to the bathroom
I had to hold myself back because I really wanted to tell the waiter.
Not only because we should celebrate the most adorable and
loving husband ever, but because I love free dessert.
But I knew better so I refrained...
Just behind Dave and to the left there was a large group of teenage girls
eating dinner. They being really annoying and loud. But this guy
kept coming to the table and asking them questions.
Then at one point he ordered drinks for all the girls. (non alcoholic i'm sure)
After this I watched him return to the bar and sit down next to his significant other.
All I could think was WHAT A CREEPER! Did his
girlfriend even know that he was over there hitting
on underage girls?
Well it turns out that the girls were there for a birthday party, and
the creeper and his wife were the parents of the party girl, being
cool parents and staying out of the way...
OOPS Sorry guy!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To save money, we spend alot of time at home, watching movies
and tv shows. Dave loves to lie around with Kida.
They are both such cuddlers... :-P
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kida is such a lazy bum. She is always lying around. I'm glad she isn't wired
all the time. But sometimes I would love for her to just spend hours playing.
But she's always ready to go outside. Even if she's in a dead sleep, and she
hears the door open, in a split second she's behind you
ready to bolt out the door.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One of the things I love most about my job is that I get to bring
Kida to work with me. She loved it. There were always people coming and
going so she was chasing people and trying to get attention.
Of course the receptionist and my boss were enamored of her.
I hadn't seen her for a while so I snuck out of my office to find
her staring longingly out the window.

The Graduate

IS ME! Finally after 8 months of waiting it is finally here.
I can finally say that I graduated. I felt weird telling people
that I had graduated but not be able to prove it. Well here is my proof world.
I am an Interior Designer...
and a Certified Interior Merchandiser!

Wahoo!!! Too bad I have no idea what that last one means
for me...
